Porridge Recipe

1 apple/pear, peeled and grated
1 tablespoon of ground nuts (I use almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts and sultanas in equal shares – I normally do this in bulk and use it whenever I need it for my sons foods)
1 tablespoon of honey
3 tablespoon of organic instant oats
200 ml of full fat milk


1) Put the peeled and grated fruit into a small stainless steel pan together with the nuts and cook on low heat for few minutes.
2) Add the organic instant oats and the milk and cook on low heat stirring constantly until you have thick and creamy porridge.
3) Remove from heat and put in a serving plate and then add the honey and stir until thoroughly mixed.
4) Feed your child once you know it has cooled down as cooked oats can be very hot.
5) Enjoy.

You can feed your baby this breakfast from 6 months on wards. They are not only delicious but very healthy too. You can use other fruits but note that not all fruit should be cooked for example bananas taste better when you add it after you cook the porridge. Make sure you choose fruits that are appropriate for your babies age.
